RECOMMENDATIONS

RECOMMENDATIONS

for payment cards holders concerning the use of payment cards

General Recommendations

1. Do not disclose or tell your personal data or information about the payment card (including your Personal Identification Number (PIN)) to any third parties, including relatives, friends, bank personnel, cashiers or persons trying to assist you with using your payment card. If this occurs, call the bank’s Call Centre to notify about it.

2. Never write your PIN on your card. PIN must be remembered or stored separately from the payment card and beyond the reach of third parties, including your relatives.

3. Never allow your card to be used by other persons, including your relatives. If a payment card has a name of its holder written on it, then only such person has the right to use this payment card.

4. Receiving your payment card, sign it in the space specially designed for payment card holder’s signature on the reverse side. It will reduce the risk of unauthorised use of your payment card, if the card is lost.

5. Write down your card's number and the telephone of the bank’s Call Centre and always keep them close by: in a notepad, cell phone etc., but separately from your PIN.

6. Do not forget to take your card after a transaction. Make sure that the card returned to you belongs to you. Check that the amount in the receipt is correct.

7. To prevent unauthorized transactions with your payment card and withdrawal of funds from your card account it is reasonable to limit the daily amount and number of transactions with your payment card and also to order the Mobile Banking service to receive an SMS about transactions with your card account on your cell phone.

8. To communicate with the bank it is recommended to use only the telephone and fax numbers, web-pages (web-sites/portals) and e-mails provided to you in the documents by the card issuing bank.

9. Do not give your card number when participating in lotteries, advertising campaigns etc.

10. Remember that with your PIN and personal data disclosed or your payment card lost there is a risk of unauthorised actions with your funds by third parties.

11. If the payment card is lost, its holder shall immediately notify the issuing bank. If the bank fails to receive such notification, it shall not be liable for transactions performed with the lost payment card, unless otherwise provided by the contract between the holder and the bank.

12. Do not use the card previously declared lost or stolen.

ATM Transactions

1. It is recommended to use payment cards at ATMs installed in safe locations (e.g. at institutions, banks, large trading centres, hotels, airports etc.).

2. Do not use any devices requiring you to enter your PIN to access the premises with an ATM.

3. Before using the ATM make sure it is free of any unusual additional devices that disagree with its design and are located on the keyboard and card slot (e.g. incorrectly installed keyboard). If an ATM contains any such devices, do not use it and notify the bank calling the number indicated on the ATM.

4. Do not apply force to insert your payment card into the card slot. If your card cannot be inserted easily, do not use such ATM.

5. Enter your PIN in such a way as to prevent other persons from seeing it. Entering your PIN, close the keypad with your hand.

6. If the ATM operates incorrectly (e.g. stays too long in stand-by, reboots or changes the type of your transaction), cancel your transaction by pressing the CANCEL button (red) and retrieve your card when it is returned.

7. Having withdrawn cash at an ATM, count it, make sure that the ATM returned your card, receive the receipt, if requested, and only then leave the ATM.

8. Receipts printed by an ATM shall be stored to reconcile the amounts in them with the card account statement.

9. Never follow instructions of third parties and refuse their assistance when you use your payment cart at an ATM.

1

0. If an ATM does not return your payment card used to perform a transaction with the ATM, call the telephone number indicated on the ATM, describe the situation and notify the issuing bank to put your payment card in the stop-list (block).

Non-Cash Transactions

1. Do not use your payment card to purchase goods or services in a retail chain if the retailer/salesperson/cashier (in a restaurant, shop, gas station etc.) looks untrustworthy.

2. Transactions with payment cards must be performed in your presence. If services in any point of sale arise your suspicion, please, notify the bank by calling its Call Centre.

3. When a payment card is used to purchase goods or services, the sales person/cashier can require its holder to show his/her passport, sign the receipt or enter PIN. Before entering your PIN, make sure that third persons near you cannot see it. Before signing the receipt you must check the amount in it.

4. If a transaction to purchase goods or services with a payment card has failed, one copy of the receipt printed by the terminal must be kept to confirm that this transaction is not entered in the card account statement.

Transactions on the Internet

1. Ordering goods or services on the Internet, telephone or fax, never use your PIN.

2. Do not disclose data about your payment card or your card account (e.g. PIN, account access codes, credit limits or personal data) on the Internet.

3. Purchasing on the Internet, use only web-sites/portals of well-known and trusted Internet shops.

4. Always make sure that web-address of web-sites/portals you are opening to purchase goods/services are correct, as similar addresses can be used for unauthorised actions or doubtful transactions using personal data of payment cards.

5. To prevent illegal actions or doubtful transactions with data of payment cards it is reasonable to use a separate virtual card with a limit to purchase goods/services on the Internet. Such virtual card cannot be used to withdraw cash or purchase goods/services outside Internet. At the same time, the limit considerably reduces the risk of frauds if the data of the virtual card becomes known to third parties in the course of transactions performed by the cardholder on the Internet.

6. It is recommended to purchase goods/services on the Internet only from your own computer to keep your personal and/or card account data confidential. If the goods/services were purchased from a third-party computer, it is recommended to make sure that your personal data and other information has not been saved on such computer by reopening the web-site used for the purchase.

7. Your computer must be equipped with anti-virus software with its and other software (operating system, applications) regular update. This will stop unauthorised software (viruses) from penetrating your computer.
