Raif has continued to participate in initiative on gathering used batteries

Raiffeisen Bank Aval has continued it`s participation in environmental initiative on collecting used batteries through Raif branch network. As usual the bank has enlisted a partner company assistance – public organization "Batteries, surrender!".

"Raiffeisen Bank Aval has been collecting the used batteries for five years, and the number of batteries we manage to collect is growing anually. This year we have expanded the geography of our involvement and placed battery collection boxes in branches from different Ukrainian cities, to be exactly  -  11 locatons. We are planning to increase the number of boxes so that as many Ukrainians as possible have the opportunity to join such a cleanup, " – said Natalia Marchenko, the head of department of Executive Management and Communications at Raiffeisen Bank Aval.

Our clients and branch guests can be sure that every battery left in the box is guaranteed to be recycled at one of specialized plants in Europe.

We are so grateful to conduct common volunteers mission – to unite people so that 100% of used batteries in Ukraine to be sent for recycling instead of digging deep in the land.

Only one battery can contaminate up to 16 m²  of land or 400 liters of water with heavy metals. In turn, one box of collected batteries will help save up to 8,000 m² of soil from toxic pollution.
